RAVen (Autonomous Drone Delivery Stystem)

RAVen is an autonomous delivery drone built for campus and last-mile logistics. It flies preset routes on its own, handling takeoff, GPS navigation, and landing without a pilot, using the PX4 and ArduPilot flight stacks on a Pixhawk controller with Python and MAVLink. The project earned a Silver Award representing KNUST at the Africa Division of the China International College Students' Innovation Competition.

Smart Energy Monitoring System

An IoT-based smart energy meter that tracks electricity use in real time and helps cut waste, overload losses, and power theft. Built on an ESP32 and Raspberry pi Pico controllers with current and voltage sensors, it detects empty rooms with Ai-Thinker Rd-03D and switches off idle appliances, allows remote control over Bluetooth and WiFi, and sends live readings to a cloud dashboard for monitoring. It was presented as an oral paper at the Russian-African Forum of Young Scientists.

Lenz (AI-powered Agricultural Drone)

Lenz is an AI-powered agricultural drone that scans farmland from the air and detects crop diseases early. Using an onboard camera with computer vision (OpenCV and a YOLO-based model) on the PX4 and ArduPilot flight stacks, it flies fields autonomously, spots signs of disease before they spread, and can carry out precision pesticide spraying, cutting chemical use while giving farmers free, actionable crop-health insights. As part of Team Lenz, the project won the Outstanding Innovation Award and $3,000 at the Presidential AI & Robotics Competition (Elevate AI Africa).

MindBot

MindBot is an AI-powered virtual STEM learning platform that brings the whole lab online for students who can't afford physical kits. It combines an AI tutor with built-in code compilers and virtual simulators for robotics and electronics, so learners can write code, run experiments, and build projects entirely in the browser. It's currently in live pilot with students across several schools in Ghana, giving young people hands-on STEM practice they would otherwise never get.

Smart Cane is a smart walking stick that helps blind and visually impaired people navigate their surroundings with confidence. Built on Arduino with ultrasonic sensors, it detects obstacles in the user's path and alerts them through voice notifications and vibrations, turning distance and direction into signals they can feel and hear. The goal is a low-cost, dependable mobility aid that gives users greater independence and safety as they move.
