Professional Biography
Appau-Siaw Richmond Yeboah is a multi-disciplinary engineer whose work spans robotics, embedded systems, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things. Over nearly a decade he has designed autonomous systems, built safety-critical hardware, and shipped products that operate in demanding real-world conditions.
In parallel with his engineering practice, Richmond has become one of the most active STEM educators in his region — coaching championship robotics teams, developing curricula, and mentoring hundreds of students who have gone on to pursue careers in technology.
He is also a founder, having started and co-founded several ventures at the intersection of technology, education, and social impact. His guiding conviction is that engineering only matters when it reaches people — and that Africa should build, not merely consume, the technology of the future.

Founded RichTechWorld
Started a STEM innovation company to bring hands-on robotics, AI, and engineering education to young Africans, and to build technology that solves real local problems. What began as a one-person mission grew into the platform behind much of my teaching, mentoring, and product work.

First Global STEM Competition Win
Represented my team (G0154-Adiscobot) at the FIRST LEGO League Virtual Open International in Greece, earning an Activities Award on a global stage. Competing internationally early on shaped how I think about robotics, teamwork, and building under pressure.

Became Lead STEM Facilitator at Firefly IO
Took on the role of lead facilitator and technical director, designing and delivering hands-on robotics and STEM programs and building learning toolkits. It was where I turned my own love for building into a way of teaching others to build.

Youth Innovator at Evi4Dev, Kenya
Selected to speak at the Evidence for Development (Evi4Dev) Conference in Nairobi, Kenya, where I shared how evidence and youth-led innovation can shape policies that support young African innovators in STEM. Representing Ghana's youth voice at a pan-African conference was a real honor.

Won Silver Award Representing KNUST
Represented KNUST at the Africa Division of the China International College Students' Innovation Competition, where RAVen earned the Silver Award among top student innovators across the continent. It was a proud moment of seeing homegrown engineering hold its own on an international stage.

Won Outstanding Innovation Award with Team Lenz
Represented Team Lenz at the Presidential AI & Robotics Competition (Elevate AI Africa), winning the Outstanding Innovation Award and $3,000 for an AI-powered drone that scans farmland and detects crop diseases early. It was proof that AI built for African farmers could compete and win at the highest level.

Represented Team RAVen at NGDA, Denmark
Selected as a young entrepreneur to represent Team RAVen at the Next Generation Digital Action (NGDA) event in Denmark, standing among 18 startups chosen from 11 countries. Pitching our campus drone delivery system on a European stage was a milestone in taking African innovation global.

Became Part-Time Lecturer at Garden City University College
Took on a university teaching role, lecturing Introduction to Robotics and Embedded Systems. I develop the course materials, run hands-on Arduino and Onshape projects, and assess students, helping shape how the next generation of engineers learns to build.

Graduated with a BSc in Computer Science, KNUST
Completed my BSc in Computer Science at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, capping it with a smart energy meter thesis that was recognized among the best final-year projects in my class. It marked the end of one chapter and the foundation for everything I'm building next.

Served as a teaching assistant at KNUST, supporting the Real-Time and Embedded Systems course. I help lead hands-on embedded systems projects, guide students through practical work, and assess their progress, deepening my own mastery by teaching others.

Selected to give an oral presentation at the Russian-African Forum of Young Scientists, sharing my smart energy monitoring research under the theme "Future Engineers of the World." Presenting my work on cutting electricity waste and power theft to an international scientific audience was a defining research milestone.
